Cinco de Mayo is upon us! That means Americans all over will enjoy their fair share of tequila, Mexican food, and most importantly, guacamole!

Here’s a simple, easy, and delicious guacamole recipe that you can enjoy for your Cinco de Mayo festivities!

2 Hass Avocados

2 Serrano or Jalapeno Peppers (your choice)

1/2 a Red Onion

1 Tomato

1/2 cup of Cilantro

A Pinch of Salt (or two)

Half a Lime

How to Make:

Cut each avocado in half, and remove the pit.

Scoop out the avocado from each pee with a spoon, into a large serving bowl.

Slice each pepper (serrano or jalapeno) in half, and remove the seeds and ribs.

Thinly slice each half of the pepper and put them into the serving bowl with the avocado..

Cut your red onion in half, and then dice the half you’re going to use.

Once diced, put the diced onion into the serving bowl.

Chop and de-seed the tomato, and you guessed it, put into the serving bowl.

Chop 1/4 cup of cilantro, and you can always add more if you’re a big fan of cilantro, then put the chopped cilantro into the serving bowl.

Take a pinch or two of salt, and sprinkle over the top of the mixture.

Halve a lime, and squeeze the juice over the top of the now salted mixture.

Lastly, using a fork/spoon/whisk/whatever you’d like, mash and mix everything together.

Enjoy your guacamole! Whether it’s by yourself or at a party; use tortilla chips, or just eat it with a spoon (I’ve done it, so I won’t judge you!).
